The successful candidate will play a key role in introducing, implementing, governing, and scaling GitHub Enterprise as a strategic development platform. The role focuses on driving GitHub adoption across engineering teams, establishing security and compliance frameworks, enabling automation, and integrating GitHub capabilities with Azure DevOps and modern DevOps tooling. This position requires strong experience in GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, automation, and enterprise development governance. Key Responsibilities GitHub Enterprise Platform Implementation Design, implement, and maintain GitHub Enterprise as a core enterprise development platform. Support GitHub adoption across thousands of engineers and development teams. Define platform standards, operating models, and best practices. Enable engineering teams to maximize GitHub capabilities. Support migration activities from existing development platforms where required. Platform Engineering & DevOps Enablement Build and maintain scalable developer platforms following DevOps principles. Integrate GitHub Enterprise with enterprise tooling ecosystems. Support CI/CD automation and development workflows. Integrate GitHub with Azure DevOps pipelines and related tools. Improve developer productivity through automation and self-service capabilities. Promote Infrastructure as Code and platform automation practices. Governance, Security & Compliance Define and implement GitHub governance frameworks. Establish security controls and compliance standards for enterprise development platforms. Manage: Repository governance Access controls Branch protection policies Security configurations Development workflow standards Ensure GitHub usage aligns with enterprise security and regulatory requirements. Support audits and compliance reviews. Azure DevOps & CI/CD Integration Design and maintain integrations between GitHub Enterprise and Azure DevOps. Support CI/CD pipeline implementation and optimization. Enable automated: Build processes Testing workflows Deployment pipelines Release management Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve software delivery processes. Developer Support & Adoption Act as a technical advisor for development teams adopting GitHub Enterprise. Provide guidance, documentation, and best practices. Support teams in migrating and onboarding applications. Identify adoption challenges and implement solutions. Promote modern DevOps practices across engineering teams. Automation & Future AI Capabilities Explore and enable advanced GitHub capabilities, including: GitHub Copilot AI-assisted development workflows Agentic development capabilities Support future integrations between GitHub, Azure DevOps, and AI-powered tooling. Develop automation solutions to improve engineering efficiency. Working Environment The Platform Engineer will be part of the Development Tooling department, responsible for delivering a modern development environment for thousands of engineers. The team operates as an IT-for-IT organization, supporting internal development teams through: Large-scale enterprise platforms Secure development environments DevOps practices Automation Platform ownership Continuous improvement Required Experience 6–8 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or development tooling. Proven experience implementing and managing GitHub Enterprise within large organizations. Experience working with enterprise-scale development platforms. Strong understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD practices. Experience with Azure DevOps platforms or pipelines. Experience defining security, governance, and compliance standards. Experience with automation and platform engineering practices. Experience working in complex enterprise environments.
