Utility-Scale BESS Project Developer

🔋 Project Developer – Utility-Scale BESS 📍 Germany | Hybrid 🗣 Professional German and English required Mint Selection is partnered with a well-capitalised energy infrastructure company that is expanding its German project development team. The business is developing a significant pipeline of utility-scale BESS and grid flexibility projects across Germany. This position will take responsibility for progressing projects from early-stage site identification and evaluation through to Ready-to-Build and handover to the delivery team. Key responsibilities: • Develop utility-scale BESS projects from early-stage origination through to Ready-to-Build • Identify, assess and secure suitable project sites, cable routes and land rights • Lead engagement and negotiations with landowners and coordinate legal support • Define and manage planning, permitting and environmental approval strategies • Appoint and coordinate external planning, environmental and technical consultants • Manage relationships with municipalities, local authorities, communities and other stakeholders • Act as the development interface for grid connection activities with TSOs, DSOs and substation owners • Maintain project development schedules, budgets, risk registers and internal reporting • Coordinate engineering, legal, commercial and finance teams throughout the development process • Prepare projects for internal stage-gate approvals and investment decisions The ideal candidate will have: • Experience developing renewable energy, BESS, grid or wider energy infrastructure projects in Germany • Strong knowledge of land acquisition, planning, permitting and stakeholder management • Experience progressing projects towards Ready-to-Build status • An understanding of grid connection processes at high-voltage or transmission level • Strong project coordination, risk management and commercial awareness • Professional fluency in both German and English This is an opportunity to join an ambitious German platform at an early stage of its growth and play a central role in developing strategically important energy infrastructure projects. 📩 Please get in touch confidentially to discuss the opportunity.
