Description

Akkodis is proud to partner with one of the largest Automotive Manufacturers who is accepting applications for an Embedded Software Engineer. This is a contractual opportunity in the San Jose, CA area Pay Range: $85/hr. - $95/hr. (W2) - The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. As an Embedded Software Engineer you will help develop, optimize, and deploy software and AI workloads on NVIDIA embedded platforms, including NVIDIA Orin and Thor. This role is ideal for engineers with experience in robotics, autonomous systems, embedded computing, and GPU-accelerated applications who are passionate about building high-performance software for next-generation mobility solutions. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and cross-compile C/C++ and CUDA applications for embedded platforms.Build and maintain software pipelines targeting multiple hardware configurations using TensorRT, cuDNN, CUDA, and NVIDIA DriveWorks.Deploy and optimize neural networks on NVIDIA Drive platforms, including Orin and Thor.Develop hardware-accelerated algorithms supporting perception, localization, planning, and mapping capabilities.Profile, analyze, and optimize GPU and accelerator performance across varying operational and driving scenarios.Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD workflows for ARM64/Linux cross-compiled builds.Provide technical leadership by creating engineering standards, best practices, and architectural guidance.Troubleshoot and resolve platform-specific software, performance, and integration issues through detailed root-cause analysis.Partner with software, systems, and hardware teams to ensure end-to-end system performance and reliability. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.3–5 years of professional software development experience.Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python, preferably within automotive, robotics, or autonomous systems environments.Experience working with real-time systems and multi-threaded software development.Hands-on experience in one or more robotics domains, including:PerceptionSensor FusionLocalizationPlanningMappingExperience with ARM64 Linux development and embedded system deployment.Working knowledge of:CUDANVIDIA DriveWorksUnderstanding of modern software architecture, design patterns, and safety-critical development practices.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
