Senior Java Full Stack Software Engineer

Role: Software Engineer (Java) Location: Minneapolis, MN (Onsite) Job Type: Contract Job Description: The In Home Order Fulfillment team is looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior Software Engineer to join our team. The candidate should be instrumental in designing and implementing solutions, bringing hands-on expertise to our order fulfillment and payment team. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership qualities, and a keen understanding of AI-driven workflows. The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end delivery, from designing solutions with AI agents to implementing them and getting them into production. Responsibilities • Design and architect robust software solutions, demonstrating deep technical knowledge. • Implement solutions with a hands-on approach while ensuring technical excellence. • Work closely with AI agents (including AI agents) to design and deliver solutions. • Lead with best practices and adapt to evolving ways of working, particularly with AI integration. • Make technical and architectural decisions on behalf of the team. • Collaborate within a 45-member team, potentially split into smaller sub-teams. • Contribute to long-term projects within the In Home Retail domain. Technical Expertise • Strong proficiency in Java (approximately 75% of the role). • Good understanding and hands-on experience with React (approximately 25% of the role). • Familiarity with C#/.NET is a plus, as there may be some related components. • Hands-on implementation experience is essential, along with AI knowledge. • Mid-level to Senior-level experience (not necessarily 15–20 years but proven senior-level capabilities). Additional Requirements Architectural & Design • Ability to design scalable solutions and define architectural patterns. Leadership Qualities • Demonstrated leadership in guiding technical solutions and adopting new ways of working. Domain Knowledge • Experience in the Home Retail domain is preferred but not mandatory. Database Experience • Familiarity with databases such as: o MySQL o PostgreSQL o Cassandra
