Job Description:
We're looking for a Platform Engineer with experience building and maintaining infrastructure, tooling, and backend systems that power our engineering teams and products.
This role sits at the intersection of platform and backend work — you'll help shape foundational systems, make key architectural decisions, and build the services other engineers rely on.
We expect our engineers to work efficiently with modern AI-assisted development tools to ship high-quality code faster.
It's a strong fit for someone who enjoys designing systems from the ground up and improving how things are built, not just keeping them running.
Specific responsibilities:
Design, build, and evolve core backend services and platform infrastructure.Make foundational architecture and system design decisions that scale.Leverage AI-assisted development tools to write, review, and ship code efficiently.Own and improve CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe deployments.Manage and scale cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code.Build and maintain container orchestration platforms.Design, manage, and secure API gateways and internal/external API platforms.Implement and improve observability — monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing.Improve system reliability, availability, and performance across services.Lead or contribute to migrations and re-architecture of existing systems.Automate manual operational processes and reduce toil.Partner with engineering teams to streamline development and deployment workflows.Participate in on-call rotations and incident responses.
What You Bring:
3–4+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, backend, DevOps, or SRE roles.Strong backend engineering fundamentals and system design skills.Experience architecting or rebuilding systems for scalability and reliability.Proven ability to use AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to ship production-quality code.Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration.Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code.Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.Solid working knowledge of APIs — designing, securing, and managing RESTful.
APIs, API gateways, and authentication (OAuth, JWT); GraphQL a plus.Proficiency in at least one backend/scripting language (Python preferred).Solid understanding of networking, security, databases, and Linux systems.Experience with monitoring and observability tools.Strong troubleshooting skills and a reliability-first mindset.
Nice to Have:
Experience leading system migrations or platform re-architectures.Experience integrating AI capabilities or tooling into platforms and workflows.Experience building internal developer platforms (IDPs) or self-service tooling.Knowledge of GitOps practices and tools.Experience with service meshes.Familiarity with message queues and event-driven systems.Prior on call / incident management experience.
