Description

We're looking for a Junior Simulation Engineer to join our team and take ownership of our CARLA-based simulation pipeline. You'll build and run new test scripts, manage overnight simulation batches, review results each morning, and work closely with teams around the world to design realistic driving environments. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys hands-on scripting, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration. Main Responsibilities: Simulation & Scenario Creation Create driving scenarios in the autonomous driving simulator.Build real-world traffic situations before they are tested on actual vehicles.Learn from the road-testing team which situations are problematic and recreate them in simulation.Simulation Environment Create and modify maps based on real-world environments.Build and maintain simulator versions.Ensure simulator builds are accessible to all relevant teams.Work with graphical tools to create simulation environments (not graphic design, but technical scene creation).Automated Testing Run nightly simulation/testing processes.Trigger existing automated pipelines (not develop them).Verify that overnight executions completed successfully.Analyze failed executions and investigate root causes.Investigation & Troubleshooting Determine whether failures originate from: the simulation scenario, the simulator itself,or the vehicle/software code.Collect information and communicate findings to the appropriate engineering teams.Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with: Development team,Integration engineers,Road testing team,Other engineering groups.Drive communication and coordinate issue resolution across teams.Ideal Candidate Profile Must have: Technical education/background.Basic programming skills (Python is sufficient).Interest in testing and validation.Excellent communication skills.Problem-solving mindset.Willingness to learn automotive and autonomous driving technologies. Nice to have: QA/Testing experience.Experience with simulation tools.Automotive or robotics exposure.Academic projects related to AI, robotics, autonomous systems, or simulation.
