Senior BI Developer – Power BI, Microsoft Fabric and Cognos Location: Atlanta, GA Work Model: 100% onsite Openings: 1 This individual will support business intelligence and analytics initiatives while helping transform a legacy on-premises BI environment—DB2, Informatica, and Cognos—into a modern Azure and Microsoft Fabric–based analytics platform using Databricks, Fabric, and Power BI. Key Responsibilities Develop and support dashboards and reports using Power BIProvide ongoing Cognos Analytics support during the modernization periodLead and support the migration of reports, dashboards, and data models from Cognos to Power BI and Microsoft FabricEnsure accuracy, consistency, performance, and usability of migrated reporting assetsDesign scalable Power BI semantic models aligned with Microsoft Fabric and modern BI best practicesUse Python for data transformation, analytics, and automation within Databricks and Microsoft FabricCollaborate with Data Engineering teams supporting Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, and Azure-based data pipelinesProvide production support and perform root-cause analysis across legacy and modern BI platformsConvert Excel, Access, and SAS reporting solutions into automated and governed Power BI solutionsGather and document business requirements, data mappings, transformation logic, and technical specificationsSupport unit testing, UAT, data validation, and reporting-quality assuranceProvide guidance and enablement for Power BI self-service analyticsSupport broader enterprise analytics transformation initiatives and evolving BI standardsRequired Skills Strong hands-on Power BI development experienceExperience building dashboards, reports, semantic models, and governed datasetsMicrosoft Fabric experience, including Lakehouse and Warehouse conceptsCognos Analytics development and production-support experienceExperience migrating Cognos reporting assets to Power BIPython experience for data transformation and automationExperience with Azure Databricks and Azure data platformsUnderstanding of DB2, Informatica, and legacy BI environmentsStrong SQL, data modeling, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation skillsExperience working directly with business stakeholdersIdeal Candidate Profile Please prioritize candidates who have worked in complex enterprise BI environments and have genuine experience modernizing or migrating Cognos platforms to Power BI or Microsoft Fabric. Candidates who only have Power BI experience without Cognos migration or legacy-platform support may not be suitable.
