Summary
A senior engineering role within a growing technology business where you will design and deliver end-to-end full-stack solutions, build cloud-native distributed systems, integrate AI capabilities, and influence technical direction in a small autonomous team.
Highlights
Opportunity to take strong ownership in a lean engineering environment, influence architecture decisions, work on AI-driven products, and mentor other engineers while building scalable cloud-native systems.
Description
Senior Full Stack Engineer
Location: Sydney CBD โ In office 1 day/week
Package: Up to $170k base + Super
The Opportunity:
This is an Aussie-founded CaaS business built around answering the phone when businesses can't.
Think virtual reception, live call answering, and appointment scheduling, delivered through a proprietary cloud platform running globally, 24/7.
Privately owned, profitable, and still growing, built on real revenue rather than a funding round.
There's genuine momentum in the tech function right now too, with new AI-driven products in the pipeline and an engineering culture that's leaning hard into building with AI, not just talking about it.
The Role:
You'd join a lean, full-stack engineering crew of around 15 people, split into two squads. This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit inside a mature, heavily-processed enterprise machine.
It's a small team with real ownership on offer, architecture decisions, technical direction, and the ability to actually influence how things get built.Everything runs on C#, .NET Core and React, hosted on AWS, with a genuine appetite for microservices, distributed systems, and building things properly rather than patching around legacy decisions.Engineers also have access to Claude Code, there are regular AI sprints, and people are shipping AI-driven features and internal tools into production, not just experimenting on the side.
What you'll do:
Architect, build and maintain complex full-stack applications end to end, from requirements through to productionTake full-cycle ownership, translating business objectives into functional and non-functional requirements, then designing and delivering the solutionDesign and implement cloud-native, distributed solutions within the AWS ecosystem, with a focus on scalability, security and performanceSet up and manage CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code, keeping deployment stable and repeatableBring real AI-building experience to the table, integrating AI capability into products and tools, not just using AI to write code fasterMentor and elevate junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and raising the bar across the teamOwn the full service lifecycle, build it, own it, run it, taking responsibility for reliability and operational health once something's live
What you'll bring:
6+ years in software engineering, including genuine experience delivering distributed, cloud-native solutionsStrong, hands-on proficiency in C#, .NET Core and ReactReal experience building with AI, not just using AI tools day to day.
Think LLM integration, agentic workflows, or AI-driven product features shipped into productionSolid grounding in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native design on AWSComfort with automated testing, performance testing, and strong engineering fundamentals, design patterns, scalability, securityA track record of mentoring others and influencing technical direction, not just writing code in isolationConfidence operating with autonomy in a small, lean team, without heavy process or oversight
