Role Overview We are currently seeking a Java Developer to join an international development team in Prague. This role offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-grade applications supporting large-scale business operations. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of modern Java-based solutions while collaborating closely with architects, developers, and business stakeholders in an agile environment. Important: This opportunity is suitable for contractors operating through their own company (IČO/B2B). Start Date: 1 September 2026Contract Duration: 1 September 2026 – 31 December 2026, with possible prolongation afterWork Model: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite in Prague)Contract Type: B2B / IČO Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications following software engineering best practicesDeliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable codeDevelop and enhance REST APIs and microservicesParticipate in code reviews and promote coding standards across the teamImplement and maintain automated testing (unit and integration tests)Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues throughout the application lifecycleSupport deployments, monitoring, and production issue resolutionCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business requirements and user storiesContribute to continuous improvement of development processes and technical solutions What Will You Need To Succeed: Strong commercial experience with JavaProven expertise with Spring BootSolid understanding of REST APIs, Microservices Architecture, and Distributed SystemsExperience with JPA/HibernateExperience working with relational databases, preferably MySQLExperience with message brokers and asynchronous communicationKnowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practicesUnderstanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environmentsStrong problem-solving and debugging skillsAbility to write clean, testable, and maintainable codeExperience working in Agile development teams
