Software Engineer - Windows Systems and Hardware Integration

About The Job F24's Media Gateway platform connects critical communication infrastructure across a wide range of industries, from emergency response to industrial environments. We're looking for a Software Engineer who enjoys working close to the operating system, solving complex technical problems and building software that interacts directly with hardware and Windows services. This role offers something different from traditional application development—combining Windows engineering, systems programming and distributed communication with opportunities to modernise an established platform. Key Responsibilities Develop native Windows applications and background servicesBuild software that communicates with hardware devices and Windows driversDevelop long-running Windows services and system componentsWork with DLLs, Windows APIs and low-level system librariesProcess high volumes of device events and communication streamsHelp modernise the Media Gateway platform and supporting infrastructureCollaborate closely with engineers across Croatia and GermanyParticipate in technical discussions, R&D and architectural improvements About You You'll likely have experience with: Native Windows application developmentWindows Services and long-running background processesWindows APIs, DLLs and system-level programmingHardware integration or device communicationMultithreaded or event-driven systemsTroubleshooting operating system and hardware issuesStrong debugging and problem-solving skills Bonus experience includes: Raspberry Pi, Arduino or personal hardware projectsBluetooth, beacons or IoT devicesIP telephonyIndustrial systems or embedded hardwareGerman language skills (beneficial but not required).
