About The Role We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Junior DevOps Engineer to join our R&D team at Advantest Europe GmbH. This role focuses on supporting and enhancing our software development and delivery processes in compliance with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). As part of our DevOps team, you will be responsible for managing our CRA tooling, including tools like Blackduck and Sonatype Lifecycle, ensuring they operate smoothly from deployment to support and training. Your work will be instrumental in maintaining a secure, auditable, and traceable software supply chain. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our R&D platform, managing services on Kubernetes clusters, utilizing GitOps practices with ArgoCD, and automating workflows with GitHub Actions. The role involves working closely with international teams across Germany, the USA, China, and Japan, providing a unique opportunity to gain global experience and develop your skills in modern DevOps practices and cloud-native technologies. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Linux system administration and security, along with practical experience working with containers such as Docker. A fundamental understanding of Kubernetes is essential for deploying, inspecting, and troubleshooting workloads. Proficiency in version control systems like Git, coupled with scripting skills in Python or Bash, is required for automating tasks and streamlining operations. Candidates should demonstrate a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving, with a strong motivation to learn new technologies and assume responsibility. Good command of English is necessary for effective communication within our international team. Preferred qualifications include experience operating Kubernetes clusters, familiarity with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD), and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), experience with Go or Ruby, and exposure to software supply chain security tools such as Blackduck or Sonatype Lifecycle are advantageous. Experience in the semiconductor industry or AI-driven software development is a plus, as is familiarity with AI tools integrated into developer workflows. Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will include managing and supporting our CRA tooling environment, ensuring its secure and efficient operation. This involves onboarding new tools, providing ongoing support, and conducting training sessions for development teams. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving our R&D platform services on Kubernetes, implementing automation scripts, and deploying updates using modern DevOps practices. Collaborating with international stakeholders, you will participate in migration projects and modernization efforts to enhance our internal services. You will work with CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot issues across the stack—from containerized environments to Linux services—and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Your role will also involve staying current with emerging technologies, integrating AI-driven tools into workflows, and ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices across all DevOps activities.
