About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated (Junior) DevOps Engineer to join our R&D team at our Böblingen location.
In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining the tooling required to comply with the evolving EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which mandates secure, traceable, and auditable software development and delivery processes.
Your primary responsibility will be managing our CRA tooling ecosystem, including tools like Blackduck and Sonatype Lifecycle, from deployment to support and training of development teams worldwide.
You will also actively contribute to enhancing our R&D platform by operating and improving services on Kubernetes clusters, leveraging GitOps practices with ArgoCD, and utilizing GitHub Actions for seamless deployments.
Additionally, you will work on migration and modernization projects, automating routine tasks using Python and potentially Go, and debugging across various layers of our infrastructure.
This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with international colleagues across Germany, the USA, China, and Japan, fostering a truly global work environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate possesses solid foundational knowledge of Linux and command-line security, practical experience with containerization (Docker), and a basic understanding of Kubernetes for deploying and troubleshooting workloads.
Proficiency in Git and scripting languages such as Python or Bash is essential.
You should demonstrate a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving, with a keen interest in understanding technical issues thoroughly.
A high degree of motivation to learn new technologies and take responsibility is required, along with good English language skills for effective communication within our international team.
Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters, especially migrations (e.g., Rancher to Kubernetes), familiarity with GitOps workflows like ArgoCD, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), experience with Go or reading Ruby scripts, and exposure to Software Composition Analysis or Supply-Chain-Security tools such as Blackduck or Sonatype Lifecycle are advantageous.
Additional experience within the semiconductor industry or in KI-driven software development and AI tools integration will be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
As a DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass the deployment, operation, and support of CRA-related tooling, ensuring compliance with security and traceability standards.
You will oversee the integration and continuous improvement of tools like Blackduck and Sonatype Lifecycle, providing training and support to development teams globally.
Managing and enhancing our R&D platform on Kubernetes clusters will be a core task, involving the automation of deployment processes and the modernization of internal services through GitOps practices.
You will automate repetitive tasks using Python and other scripting languages, employing AI-assisted development tools to increase efficiency.
Debugging issues across the entire technology stack—from CI/CD pipelines to containerized environments and Linux services—will be part of your daily routine.
Collaboration with international colleagues to align on project goals, implement migration strategies, and optimize our development environment will be essential.
Additionally, you will participate in continuous learning initiatives to stay current with emerging technologies and industry standards.
