Build software that solves real operational challenges.
We're BookThat, a small and growing team.
We've built SIMA, a platform that staffing agencies and housing providers use to manage accommodation, residents, planning, inspections, mobility and compliance.
Thousands of people rely on it every day to run their operations.
Now we're building NOVA: a planning engine that brings workforce planning, housing and mobility together, with the optimisation and automation that comes with it.
It's genuinely hard problems, not form-over-database work.
The role
You'll work across both SIMA and NOVA: backend, frontend, api-integrations, all of it.
You own your work from idea to production and have a real say in how it's built.
It moves fast and things change, but it isn't chaos.
Big dataset, customers who stick around, so there's solid ground under everything you touch.
Your code hits real users quickly, and at this scale your decisions genuinely matter.
We also mean it about quality.
We review everything, we refactor when something's wrong, and welcome you to challenge our ideas.
Proven tools over the framework of the month, with real freedom to bring in something better when it earns its place.
We run our own infra too (Kubernetes), so there's depth here if you like the ops side.
You'd fit if you:
- have 3 to 5 solid years building web apps that scaled.
Self-taught is completely fine, we care what you can do, not where you learned it
- think about architecture, not just the next ticket
- are comfortable designing APIs and integrations
- actually care how things are built and how they age
- Fluent in English.
(Dutch is a plus.)
- Available for 32 to 40 hours per week
- Based in the Netherlands
Industry experience? Not needed.
Curiosity about how systems fit together? Absolutely.
Stack: Node.js · TypeScript · Python · Strapi · Vue · Nuxt · Tailwind · MySQL · Kubernetes
About us
We're young, social, and good company.
We talk, we argue about the right way to do things, we share what we're building.
Good ideas win no matter who they come from.
Plenty of us have real lives and interests outside of code (music, sports, cooking, whatever your thing is), and we like it that way.
If you're after a silent room full of headphones for eight hours, this isn't it.
Hiring process
Short and human.
One real conversation, then a paired session on something actual, no weekend-eating take-home.
If you're good, you'll know fast and so will we.
