Job Description As the first engineer at Byld, you will architect and build a new internal platform from scratch using React and Node.js. You’ll own the entire product lifecycle, from infrastructure decisions to UI design. This greenfield role offers the unique opportunity to set the engineering culture and eventually lead the technical team. Location London, UK Why this role is remarkable Greenfield opportunity to build a venture firm's internal platform from zero with absolutely no legacy code or existing constraints.Massive ownership as the first engineering hire, shaping the architecture, tech stack, and engineering practices from day one.High-impact position working directly with the founding team at a firm backing high-growth fintech across emerging markets. What You Will Do Architect and develop the entire internal platform end-to-end using React on the frontend and Node.js on the backend.Make critical infrastructure and technical tradeoff decisions while turning abstract product ideas into production-ready software.Establish the foundational engineering culture and eventually recruit and lead the engineering team as the platform scales. The ideal candidate Lead or Principal level experience with deep expertise in the React and Node.js ecosystems for building production-grade systems.Proven track record of building complex products from scratch and a high comfort level operating as a solo engineer.Strong architectural range covering everything from UI/UX implementation to database design and cloud deployment.
