Java Developer Hybrid/Limerick ( 1 day per week onsite required) Inital 12 month Day Rate Contract with long term potential My client is seeking an experienced Java Developer to support the delivery of business-critical application development projects in a structured enterprise environment. This role will suit someone with strong Java development experience, good database knowledge, and the ability to work across technical and business-facing teams. The successful candidate will be involved in new development, enhancements, testing support, issue resolution, and release activity. The Role You will be responsible for: Developing new application features and enhancementsWorking from technical specifications, functional requirements, and user storiesProducing estimates for assigned development workWriting clean, maintainable code in line with agreed standardsSupporting unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolutionWorking closely with testers, analysts, developers, and project stakeholdersSupporting system testing and release activityInvestigating issues and providing fixes where requiredUpdating project tracking tools such as JiraParticipating in code reviews and knowledge sharingSupporting junior team members where required Key Skills Required Strong commercial experience in Java developmentExperience with Spring and/or HibernateGood knowledge of SQL and relational databasesExperience working with Web ServicesFamiliarity with structured data formats such as XML and JSONUnit and integration testing experience, ideally with JUnitExperience working in enterprise application development environmentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersGood written and verbal communication skills Desirable Skills Angular or AngularJSJavaScriptMule or other integration technologiesETL experienceWebLogic or similar application serversExperience with NoSQL or big data frameworksExperience with legacy systems or mixed technology environmentsExperience working in highly regulated, structured, or public-sector environmentsExposure to Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models
