Job Title: Engineer I (ENG1) Location: Birmingham, AL 35243 Work Arrangement: Onsite Employment Type: Contract Duration: 5 Months Domain: Engineering / Power Systems / Utility Engineering Pay Rate: $45.00/hr. on W2 Schedule: Standard Shift Deadline: 8/10/2026 Skills Required Primary (Must-Have) Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.0โ€“5 years of related engineering experience.Basic knowledge of engineering principles, design practices, and construction processes.Understanding of engineering design software and related applications.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.Experience supporting project estimates, design development, and construction documentation.Ability to collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Position Overview The Engineer I (ENG1) position is designed for early-career engineers with 0โ€“5 years of experience. The role supports the planning, design, and construction of power-related systems by applying engineering principles, design standards, and software applications. The successful candidate will assist with design development, project estimating, construction documentation, and quality reviews while collaborating with engineering teams, contractors, and field personnel to ensure safe and efficient project execution. Roles & Responsibilities Engineering Design & Project Support Apply engineering processes and design criteria to develop power system designs.Prepare design options, engineering calculations, and construction packages.Support the preparation of project estimates and material requirements.Develop construction specifications and engineering documentation.Utilize engineering software applications to support design activities. Construction & Quality Support Review contractor design solutions and provide engineering guidance.Perform quality assurance reviews of engineering designs and construction packages.Support construction and maintenance teams during project execution.Ensure engineering work complies with company standards and industry requirements. Planning & Coordination Understand engineering processes related to planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance.Coordinate with internal departments involved in engineering and construction activities.Support the development and implementation of engineering design standards.Assist in transmitting construction packages and technical documentation. Safety & Continuous Improvement Promote a safe working environment by prioritizing safety in all engineering activities.Follow company engineering procedures and best practices.Build effective working relationships with engineering teams, plant personnel, contractors, and vendors.Participate in continuous learning and professional development. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.0โ€“5 years of engineering experience.Basic understanding of engineering design principles.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently while receiving guidance from senior engineers.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Excellent organizational and communication skills.
