Software Engineer (Backend / Full Stack PHP) | API & Data Platform | Sydney We’re partnering with a product company building a global SaaS platform used at scale across education and analytics environments. Their technology powers interactive experiences and large scale data processing for millions of users worldwide. This is a strong opportunity for engineers who enjoy end-to-end ownership, shipping production systems, and working across both backend and product layers. What you’ll be doing Designing and building scalable backend systems and APIsContributing across the full lifecycle from ideation to production releaseWorking on data-driven features and tuning systems for performanceInvestigating complex problems and delivering robust long-term solutionsCollaborating with product, design, and leadership stakeholdersContributing to engineering standards through code reviews and best practices Their Stack & Requirements PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, PythonPostgreSQL/MySQL and SQL designAWS, DockerAPIs, backend services, or data intensive systemsTesting, CI/CD, and agile development practicesComfortable contributing across frontend when required Nice to have: Experience with AI tools, data platforms, or search technologies (e.g. Elasticsearch)Exposure to additional backend languages (e.g. Go)
