Backend Development & Coding • Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based microservices and APIs. • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices and design patterns. • Build and optimise RESTful APIs aligned with OpenAPI specifications. • Refactor legacy components for improved performance and maintainability. ________________________________________ 2. System Design & Architecture • Design scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems to support large-scale user traffic. • Participate in architecture discussions and propose backend solutions aligned with enterprise standards. • Ensure code adheres to modular, reusable, and cloud-native design principles. ________________________________________ 3. Cloud & Containerisation • Develop and deploy services on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or OpenShift. • Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerisation and orchestration. • Ensure high availability, scalability, and resiliency of backend systems. ________________________________________ 4. CI/CD & DevOps Contribution • Integrate backend services into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. • Automate build, testing, and deployment processes. • Continuously improve deployment efficiency and reliability through automation. ________________________________________ 5. Testing & Quality Assurance • Write and maintain unit, integration, and functional tests. • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and standards. • Ensure applications meet performance, security, and compliance requirements. ________________________________________ 6. AI-Assisted Development & Productivity • Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar to accelerate development and improve code quality. • Use automation tools to enhance development velocity and reduce manual effort. ________________________________________ 7. Monitoring & Production Support • Monitor application performance using tools like Splunk or Dynatrace. • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system stability. • Participate in on-call rotation for critical application support. ________________________________________ 8. Collaboration & Agile Practices • Work closely with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams. • Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews). • Translate functional requirements into technical backend solutions. ________________________________________ 9. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing • Maintain technical documentation for APIs, services, and workflows. Share best practices and mentor junior engineers when required.
