As a Technical Application Engineer within our Technical Application Management (TAM) team, you are responsible for the availability, performance, security and continuous improvement of the Benefits-Plaza platform.
You'll work closely with experienced engineers and act as a technical expert for one of our most important SaaS solutions.
This is a hands-on role where infrastructure, middleware, security and automation come together.
You'll regularly balance operational continuity, customer expectations and security requirements while making sound technical decisions under pressure.
You'll be responsible for:
Drive the resolution of complex platform incidents and problems, ensuring timely recovery while acting as the technical escalation point for internal teams and stakeholdersMonitor the Benefits-Plaza platform and proactively resolve operational issues, including resource bottlenecks, application outages and middleware failures (e.g.
disk space, CPU usage and Tomcat availability)Contribute to daily operations: handling service requests and standard changes, following agreed ITIL processes.
Managing service requests and standard changes in line with ITIL processesManaging web service integrations, including networking, whitelisting, security configuration and end-to-end technical validation.
Planning and executing maintenance activities, including patching and upgrading technologies such as RHEL, DB2, Tomcat and related components.
Managing the lifecycle of client and server certificates, coordinating renewals and secure deployments.
Lead the technical execution of external audits, penetration tests and disaster recovery exercises by preparing technical evidence, coordinating activities and driving remediation where neededDriving automation and standardization by improving runbooks, scripts and operational tooling.
Optimizing monitoring, capacity management and operational dashboards to improve platform reliability.

Requirements
You recognize yourself in the following profile:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or a related technical field.
You have 5+ years of experience in technical application management, infrastructure operations or a similar role managing business-critical applications.
You are experienced in managing application servers such as Apache Tomcat and have a solid understanding of their interaction with networking, security and the application stack layer.
You have practical experience with security hardening, patching and vulnerability management, especially in regulated or audited environments.
You are familiar with certificates (PKI), networking and firewalls, and know how to work with concepts like whitelisting, proxies and load balancers.
You can script and automate (for example with PowerShell, Bash or Ansible) and are comfortable working with monitoring and deployment tools.
You are analytical, structured and pragmatic, able to quickly understand complex situations and define clear next steps.
You are a communicative team player: You work closely with colleagues and stakeholders and can translate technical issues into business impact.
You like working in a dynamic, fast-growing environment and think in solutions.
Experience with Oracle, WebLogic and Windows Server is considered a plus.
You will grow into taking more ownership of incidents and changes, and after a proper onboarding and training period, you will be part of the standby/on-call rotation
