Business Intelligence Developer

Role : BI Developer Location: Toronto (Hybrid — 3 day/week ) Job type: Contract(12 Months) - High possibility of Extension Pay : CAD $50 /Hour Start date : Immediate Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Digital Analytics Consultant to support data preparation, reporting, dashboard development, and analytical initiatives that drive business decision-making. In this role, you will work with data from multiple sources to create accurate, meaningful, and actionable reporting outputs while ensuring data quality and consistency. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into reporting solutions, maintain reporting assets, and deliver insights that help teams measure performance and identify opportunities for improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain recurring and ad-hoc dashboards, reports, and analytical deliverables for business stakeholdersCollect, prepare, standardize, and validate data from multiple sources to support reporting and analysis needsAnalyze complex business questions and data sets to generate actionable insights and recommendationsMonitor data pipelines, perform quality assurance checks, and troubleshoot data issues to ensure reliable reporting outputsTranslate business requirements into technical specifications for reporting and visualization solutionsDesign and enhance data visualizations that clearly communicate performance metrics and trends to decision-makersMaintain reporting assets and ensure outputs align with established data models, KPI definitions, and business logicCreate and update documentation for dashboards, reporting processes, and operational proceduresSupport ad-hoc data requests, analysis, and reporting needs within defined timelinesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting processes and data accessibilityQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or a related fieldPost-secondary education in Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceProficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysisHands-on experience with Power BI for dashboard development and data visualizationExperience using Python and/or SAS for data preparation, analysis, and reportingUnderstanding of data quality validation, testing, and troubleshooting techniquesExperience working with large and complex data sets from multiple sourcesAbility to translate business requirements into reporting and analytical solutionsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailAbility to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience developing and maintaining reporting documentation and process materialsNICE TO HAVE: Experience supporting digital analytics, marketing analytics, or customer analytics initiativesFamiliarity with data warehousing concepts and data modelingExperience working with automated reporting processes and data pipeline monitoringKnowledge of KPI framework development and performance measurement methodologiesExposure to statistical analysis and forecasting techniquesExperience working in a consulting or client-facing environmentFamiliarity with additional visualization or analytics tools beyond Power BIUnderstanding of governance, risk, and compliance considerations related to data and reporting workflows
