Platform Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of Software Engineers, Platform Engineers, and DevOps specialists. As a Platform Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in building high-performing teams, defining platform strategy, improving reliability and security standards, and driving the adoption of modern engineering practices across the organization. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team across Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, and DevOps.Define and execute the vision and strategy for internal technology platforms.Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, architectural reviews, and shift-left quality practices.Oversee the maintenance, development, reliability, and security of services and components owned by the team.Continuously improve software delivery and operational processes by enhancing SDLC practices, increasing automation, and reducing MTTR.Define, monitor, and achieve service reliability objectives, including SLOs and SLAs.Establish and promote development standards, including code coverage, linting, security gates, and dependency management.Identify, prioritize, and eliminate technical debt while balancing business needs and engineering sustainability.Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.Support recruitment activities and onboarding of new team members.Foster a strong engineering culture focused on quality, security, ownership, and continuous improvement.Requirements Minimum 5 years of hands-on software development experience and at least 2 years in an Engineering Manager or Tech Lead role.Strong technical background with the ability to review pull requests, challenge architectural decisions, and actively support engineering teams.Experience with: Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, BackstageGood knowledge of observability and monitoring tools: Grafana Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, ELK StackExperience working with databases such as PostgreSQL and InfluxDB.Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and security-by-design practices.Hands-on experience implementing and managing SAST and DAST solutions.Ability to effectively collaborate with Product Managers and business stakeholders.Excellent communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills.Passion for application security, platform engineering, and building high-quality engineering cultures.Confidence in presenting technical topics and leading tech talks, workshops, or meetups.Experience with Apache Kafka will be considered an advantage.
