IT Infrastructure Engineer (Microsoft 365, Azure & Apple)

We're supporting an international education organisation that's establishing independent IT operations for one of its schools in Munich.
This is a unique opportunity to become the primary on-site IT engineer, taking ownership of the school's technology while working closely with a central IT team and external service providers.

The Role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation and continual improvement of the school's IT environment, balancing hands-on technical work with project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities include:
Acting as the primary on-site IT contact for the school.Providing 2nd and 3rd line support across infrastructure, networks and end-user technology.Building, deploying and supporting Windows laptops, Macs and iPads.Managing Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID/Active Directory and Windows Server environments.Administering Microsoft Intune, JAMF and mobile device management (MDM) platforms.Supporting LAN infrastructure, switches, firewalls and virtual environments.Planning and delivering infrastructure improvements and cloud migration projects.Coordinating with Managed Service Providers (MSPs), internet providers and technology vendors.Scheduling maintenance windows and communicating planned downtime to non-technical users.Working closely with school leadership to ensure technology supports teaching and operational needs.Helping shape the future IT strategy following the transition from the existing IT provider.
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership and is comfortable working independently while knowing when to engage colleagues and external partners.
You'll ideally have experience with:
Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID and Active Directory.Windows Server and virtualisation technologies.Microsoft Intune, JAMF and Apple device management.Windows 11, macOS and iPad support.Networking including LAN, switching and firewalls.Cloud or infrastructure migration projects.Managing or coordinating external MSPs, vendors or service providers.Supporting both technical and non-technical users.Planning and delivering IT projects with minimal disruption to the business.
We'd Love to Hear From You If...
You've previously been:
The go-to IT person for a site, office or business.Responsible for everything from infrastructure and networking through to end-user devices.Comfortable speaking with senior stakeholders as well as resolving technical issues yourself.Someone who enjoys variety rather than specialising in a single technology.
Experience within a school, college, university or other education environment would be advantageous, but it's not essential.
Requirements
Fluent German and English.Able to work on-site in Munich (Perlach) when required.Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to work independently.
