Job Description – Python Backend Engineer Location: Amsterdam (Hybrid) Position Overview My client is seeking a talented Python Backend Engineer with strong fintech experience to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional experience in backend development, excellent Python skills, and advanced SQL knowledge. This is a hybrid role based in Amsterdam, offering the opportunity to work on complex, scalable financial systems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python. Write efficient, scalable, and secure SQL queries and optimize database performance. Collaborate with product, frontend, and data teams to deliver high-quality fintech solutions. Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure backend systems are robust, maintainable, and follow best practices for security and compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and bugs in production systems. Contribute to technical documentation and support knowledge sharing within the team. Qualifications 3+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python. Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases. Previous experience in fintech or financial services is required. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and Linux experience Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.
