Description

How do you take a feature from its first refinement conversation all the way to monitoring it live in production? As a Full-Stack Software Engineer at Budget Thuis you do exactly that: full-stack in C# and TypeScript, across a landscape of independent microservices. Sounds like your kind of work? Apply below. What You'll Do Design and build features across our microservices landscape, working full-stack in C# and TypeScript, from first refinement through deployment and monitoring in production. You don't just build what's asked, you push back when there's a better way. Question assumptions in refinement and architecture discussions, and speak up when you see a stronger solution.Improve our CI/CD pipelines and engineering practices, not just the code that runs through them.Use AI tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot in your daily workflow to work faster and sharper.Work closely with engineers across the domain to keep our systems reliable and maintainable. About The Team You join the team behind the Internet and TV services of Budget Thuis, one of the four largest energy providers in the Netherlands. Our dynamic energy product alone serves a huge base of customers, so the systems you work on run at real scale. It's a small, international team of engineers, tech leads and product managers, and our working language is English. We work in OKRs and are actively shaping a new way of working, so you help decide both what we build and how we get there. People here question each other's plans and expect the same back, and CI/CD is something the whole team owns, not a black box someone else maintains. What You Bring Solid, hands-on experience with both C# and TypeScript, full-stack across backend and front-end. Software engineer, full-stack or backend developer: what counts is that you work across the whole stack;Experience in complex microservice systems: service boundaries, contracts and system-wide trade-offs, not just your own service;A track record of owning work end-to-end, from refinement to monitoring in production;A solid grasp of CI/CD pipelines, and opinions on how to improve them;Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications; An open mindset and strong critical thinking: you question assumptions and give and take feedback without getting defensive; An AI mindset: you already build with tools like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, and keep looking for better ways to use them;Fluent English. It's our working language, so you'll use it every day. (Relocation is unfortunately not possible). What We Offer A gross annual salary of โ‚ฌ95.000 based on 40 hours, including your 13th month and holiday allowance;A brand-new office on the Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam, with a fresh lunch every day;Budget Summer Holiday: every Friday off in July and August (9 extra days);1 paid volunteering day per year;25 holidays, with the option to buy 1.5 weeks extra;Pension: 16% of your gross salary including holiday pay (11% Budget Thuis, 5% own contribution);Monthly ClassPass credits;Travel allowance: a Swapfiets or NS Business Card, your choice;Free use of a mobile and internet subscription from Budget Thuis;Hybrid working (50/50);1 month per year working 100% remote;Free access to OpenUp for mental health and courses. How We Hire A first conversation with our recruiter to get to know each other and answer any initial questions; Two technical conversations: one focused on your domain knowledge and technical fit with the Engineering Manager, and one system design interview with a senior engineer to explore your approach to solving complex challenges;A final conversation about how we work together, our team culture, and your product mindset.
