Description

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic individual with experience working in an IT development environment and an aptitude and keen interest in technology looking for the next step in your IT career? This full-time role which allows for mostly home working if desired is an excellent opportunity to join our Integration Platforms Team and share our passion for delivering robust, intelligent and efficient services to our Partners and to citizens of Hampshire. The Role: As an Integration Developer, you will be working in our Integration Platforms Team who are involved in Digital Integration, SAP Integration, CRM Integration, Social Care System Integration, Data Science/AI, Low Code and other key information development projects; occupying a vital role designing, building and implementing new technologies for Hampshire County Council to realise efficiencies and to supply high-quality services to citizens of Hampshire through delivery of our IT services. The role will be based at our Winchester offices, however as part of Hampshire County Council’s Open Workplace Policy the successful candidate can undertake their work with a hybrid approach between home and office, depending upon operational requirements, with the majority of work able to be performed at home if desired. Although this is a temporary role until March 2028, there may be opportunity for it to become permanent for the right candidate. What you’ll do: The focus of the role is development and technical support of services built on our Boomi integration platform. We're particularly interested in applicants with a background in building iPaaS solutions on platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, SAP Integration Suite or Workato who are keen to apply their skills, assisting us in development and growth of services. The key focus of the role is to support Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) initiatives through development of integrations using the Boomi platform and its associated technologies. This will include creation and development of new processes, troubleshooting technical issues and testing enhancements, supported by experienced colleagues in our large IT department. The role will assist in implementing new projects, creating technical documentation, working closely with IT and Business testers to resolve bugs in the services we develop, and support of the ‘go-live’ of new projects. You will also be involved with wider development platforms and technologies and be supported as required. It is expected that you will often work closely with wider IT departments, benefiting from collective technical expertise. What we’re looking for: You have experience working in an IT application development and support environment. You will be familiar with a wide variety of standard desktop applications and be prepared to further that knowledge with a detailed understanding of new systems. You have some experience working in a cross-team environment; building, maintaining and growing technical and business relationships with IT teams and wider business departments. You’re a self-starter willing to take the initiative, with good analytical skills, and strong communication skills. Experience of working in a team or in a context of multiple stakeholders where you have managed your personal workload and interpreted business requirements is essential. You absorb information quickly and seek deeper understanding of new and existing technologies. You relish opportunities to complement your existing skills, and you are determined and adaptable, with excellent interpersonal oral and written skills together with the ability to identify, analyse and solve problems effectively.
