Description
We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!
The Role
• Take end-to-end responsibility for selected modules of a long-established, Uniface-based practice information system, delivering high-quality changes relied upon daily by thousands of practices.
• Modernize and refactor existing Uniface codebases, enhancing maintainability and stabilizing critical workflows in outpatient care.
• Collaborate closely with architecture and AI full-stack teams to integrate Uniface modules with modern Java/Quarkus services and AI-driven workflows, connecting the system with healthcare exchange platforms and ecosystems.
• Utilize AI code and agents to accelerate the analysis, refactoring, and documentation of existing Uniface code, feeding insights back to the team.
• Actively contribute to the long-term evolution strategy of the system, balancing reliable delivery with phased platform modernization.
What You'll Need
• Several years of senior-level experience in Uniface development, ideally within business-critical, long-lived application systems requiring high availability.
• A university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field with excellent academic performance.
• Deep understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and Uniface deployment and integration patterns; proficiency with version control, build, and delivery processes; effective use of AI tools in software engineering, including AI pipelines and context engineering.
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken, enabling confident communication in international settings and with German-speaking clients and departments.
• Strong problem-solving skills, pragmatic and self-directed work ethic, high proactivity, innovative spirit, and an entrepreneurial mindset aligned with a healthcare purpose and long-term product responsibility.
