The ideal candidate will balance strong communications skills, understanding of enterprise systems and attacker techniques, and technical skills to improve detection and defense implementations. This position will work in tandem with CoStar’s global cyber threat center team to provide continuous security coverage. This position is in Arlington, VA or Richmond, VA and is in office Monday through Thursday with work from home on Friday. Responsibilities Own cyber security incidents from identification to resolutionEnsure incidents and corresponding artifacts and evidence are consistently and accurately recordedWork with threat intelligence, detection engineering and security controls team to build a holistic lifecycle around incident preparedness and resolutionOperate as a point of escalation for alert triage and provide expert guidance for investigation and incident resolutionOwn, maintain, and improve the Incident Response Plan and the corresponding processes and proceduresTeam expert on Mitre Att&ck, tools, techniques, and practices of cyber attackers which you use to drive the overall strategy of the incident response team. Execute threat hunts in the CoStar enterprise Develop and deliver training as well as designing and delivering quarterly tabletop exercisesBe a security advocate and point of contact for all things incident response through the enterprise.Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit, in person, university or college. A track record of commitment to prior employers 4+ years of hands-on security engineering experienceExcellent documentation and communication skillsAbility to identify opportunities for automation to increase detection and response efficacy.Experience with Microsoft/Azure security toolingExperience in scripting with a language such as Python or a low-code automation solution Preferred Qualifications And Skills Experience performing incident response in cloud environments.Experience with Kubernetes environments and how to defend/attack them.Experience collaborating with threat intelligence and detection engineeringAbility to work on a cultural diverse team that spans international time zones and foster an environment of inclusions and participation with all team members Ability to mentor and train team members to work effectively and adopt new skills.Ability to communicate with different levels of leadership across the enterprise to convey risk and drive urgency for risk remediation.Experience with Microsoft Security tooling (Defender, Sentinel, EOP etc.) a plus What’s In It For You When you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed. The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role with fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
