We're partnering with a leading Australian technology business on the hire of a Senior Backend Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering a greenfield platform from the ground up. You'll play a key role in shaping the architecture, designing backend services, and building scalable solutions that will support future growth. You'll be working across the full software development lifecycle, helping define technical direction while designing and building cloud-native microservices using Kotlin and Spring Boot. Expect a strong focus on backend architecture, distributed systems, API design, cloud engineering and establishing engineering practices for a brand-new platform. What they're looking for: Six or more years' commercial backend development experience, with strong expertise in Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot and microservices. You'll have experience designing RESTful APIs, building scalable distributed systems and working within cloud environments. You'll enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, contributing to architectural decisions, collaborating with cross-functional teams and having genuine ownership over the design and delivery of a new platform.
