Are you passionate about cloud infrastructure, container technologies, and building efficient CI/CD pipelines? EWQ Zone is looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join their team in Helsinki and help shape the future of retail technology across the Nordics.
About The Role
EWQ Zone develops cutting-edge software and management tools for Queue Management Systems, Digital Marketing, and Electronic Price Communication.
Their solutions power modern retail environments and are supported by a robust private cloud infrastructure and microservices-based architecture.
As a DevOps Engineer, you will focus on building, maintaining, and improving containerized environments and delivery pipelines.
You will collaborate closely with development team and contribute to the continuous evolution of the company’s infrastructure through automation and best practices.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you will actively contribute to implementation and operations, playing a key role in developing and improving the platform.

Work tasks
Building, maintaining, and optimizing containerized applications using Docker and related toolsSupporting and improving container orchestration environments (e.g., Kubernetes)Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLabEnsuring reliable, repeatable, and efficient deployment processesImplementing and managing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolsAutomating operational tasks and improving system consistencyMaintaining and troubleshooting Linux and Windows-based production systemsSupporting high availability and performance across servicesMonitoring systems and investigating issues using tools such as Prometheus and ELK StackApplying security best practices in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure configurationsCollaborating closely with developers in an agile environmentSupporting distributed systems and IoT-related environments
We are looking for
3–5+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, SRE, or a similar roleStrong hands-on experience with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar)Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation)Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet)Solid Linux administration and scripting skillsExperience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Zabbix)Good understanding of networking and system operationsProfessional proficiency in English, both written and spoken
It is a plus if you have
Experience with infrastructure security and DevSecOps practicesFamiliarity with web servers (nginx, Apache), proxies, and load balancers (HAProxy, Cloudflare, F5 BIG-IP)Experience working with microservices-based systemsProgramming background (e.g., Node.js, PHP, JavaScript)Working proficiency in Finnish and/or Swedish
