About the RoleNayya is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, AI Applications to help design, build, and scale the core systems that power our next generation of AI-native products.
In this role, you will be critical to developing Nayya’s agentic platform to serve millions of employees across their health and wealth management.
You will act as a technical leader and AI business partner, translating ambiguous needs into durable, production-grade AI-native workflows that provide clarity for employees and hundreds of hours of savings for our partners.
What You’ll DoDevelop AI-native features by building and integrating LLM-powered systems for extracting, structuring, and reasoning over complex healthcare and benefits dataBuild against AI infrastructure, including retrieval pipelines (RAG), embeddings, prompt orchestration, and internal agent frameworksOwn end-to-end systems from design, application development, AI integrations and final product delivery.Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design and other functions to understand customer workflows and translate them into technical solutionsImplement evaluation pipelines and benchmarking strategies to measure LLM performance, and design guardrails that enforce safety, accuracy, and compliance thresholds across AI-powered featuresWho You Are5+ years of software engineering experience building and operating complex applications in productionExperienced integrating AI/LLM-powered systems (e.g., OpenAI, Claude) into real productsStrong proficiency with modern, object-oriented languages and frameworks (Typescript, Ruby etc)Comfortable completely owning backend systems and APIs and collaborating on frontend experiencesExperience with AWS infrastructure or equivalentExperience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring toolsOpinionated, adaptable, and energized by working in fast-moving, ambiguous environmentsHave a track record of setting technical direction and influencing engineering standards across a teamStrong communication skills and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholdersThe salary range for New York based candidates for this role is $188,000- $230,000.
We use a location factor to adjust this range for candidates that are located outside of geographic region of our New York office.
Placement within the salary band is determined based on experience.
