Summary

We are seeking Core Integration Engineers for a significant Federal Government ICT sustainment and upgrade program. This is a multi-year engagement supporting the sustainment, enhancement, and integration of applications on a secure government network. The role suits a hands-on integration engineer who builds, tests, and sustains connections between systems, and who is comfortable troubleshooting live integrations in a controlled environment. You will work within an established integration stream under a technical lead, alongside developers, platform engineers, and support teams. Responsibilities include building integrations across a complex application estate, developing APIs, troubleshooting faults, managing data movement securely, and producing technical documentation. Australian citizenship and a current AGSVA security clearance are mandatory.

Canberra | On-site | Federal Government ICT Sustainment and Upgrade Program PALAS Consulting is seeking Core Integration Engineers for a significant Federal Government ICT sustainment and upgrade program commencing September 2026. Two positions are available. This is a multi-year engagement, contracted yearly with extensions, supporting the sustainment, enhancement and integration of applications on a secure Federal Government network. The role suits a hands-on integration engineer who builds, tests and sustains the connections between systems, and who is comfortable troubleshooting live integrations in a controlled environment. You will work within an established integration stream under a technical lead, alongside developers, platform engineers and support teams. Key Responsibilities Build, test and sustain integrations between applications and services across a complex application estate.Develop and maintain APIs, interfaces and middleware components supporting service to service integration.Troubleshoot and resolve integration faults in live systems, working within formal change and release processes.Manage the movement of data between systems and environments in line with security and governance requirements.Produce and maintain interface specifications and supporting technical documentation.Contribute to integration standards and reusable patterns across the stream. Required Experience Demonstrated systems and application integration experience, including REST or SOAP APIs, messaging or middleware.Experience supporting and sustaining integrations in live production environments, not solely greenfield build.Experience delivering within Federal Government or similarly regulated environments.Strong troubleshooting discipline and clear technical documentation.Australian citizenship is mandatory.Must hold a current AGSVA security clearance. Desirable Familiarity with Microsoft based application estates, including SharePoint, the Power Platform and SQL Server.Experience integrating systems across segregated network environments.Experience working in agile delivery teams. Location and Working Arrangements This role is Canberra based and primarily on-site. Commencement is expected from 1 September 2026, with candidates holding notice periods encouraged to apply early.
