The work
Design, develop, and deploy core backend services for a planet-scale edge messaging platform.Optimise systems for extreme low latency, high availability, and fault tolerance, handling billions of messages daily.Drive new features and initiatives to scale and improve the Pub/Sub platform, from concept to production.Tackle complex distributed systems challenges, ensuring reliability and performance for millions of devices.Leverage AI tooling for rapid prototyping and iteration, while maintaining full ownership and accountability for technical decisions and quality.
What You Bring
5+ years of commercial experience building and operating distributed systems and large-scale infrastructure in production.Proven experience with messaging queues or pub/sub systems at significant scale.Extensive hands-on coding experience in Go or Node.js, with a preference for Go.A track record of self-starting, making independent technical decisions, and navigating ambiguity in complex environments.You use AI tools to accelerate development, but your judgment and rigour define the quality bar.
