Our engineering team's growing and we're hiring multiple Senior Software Engineers across backend and full-stack disciplines, with a particular focus on growing our Sydney-based team.
We’re open to experienced backend specialists as well full-stack engineers whose strongest capability sits on the backend.

What you’ll do
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll:
Design, build and own APIs and services that form the core building blocks of our platformDeliver reliable product capabilities from technical design through to production, monitoring and ongoing improvementWrite clean, well-tested and maintainable code, conduct thoughtful code reviews and produce clear technical documentationTake the lead on solving complex technical challenges and making pragmatic, data-informed engineering decisionsHelp evolve our architecture by decomposing monolithic applications into well-bounded, domain-driven servicesDesign and build resilient distributed and event-driven systemsContribute across the stack where appropriate, working closely with Product, Design, Data and other engineers to deliver high-quality customer experiencesBuild and improve deployment, testing and development practices that help the team release confidentlyContribute to automated regression, performance and resiliency testing to keep production stable and fastDrive operational excellence through observability, runbooks and active participation in incident response and resolutionExplore new and emerging technologies, clearly documenting your findings and recommendationsProactively identify and champion improvements to our engineering practices and standardsMentor other engineers, model best practice and help raise the technical bar across the teamSupport the continued growth of our engineering team through interviews, onboarding and knowledge-sharing
What you’ll bring
Around 6+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, deploying and scaling API-driven systemsStrong backend engineering capability and fluency in at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Java, Kotlin, Python or TypeScriptStrong experience designing and operating production workloads in a public cloud environment, particularly AWSExtensive knowledge of cloud architecture principles and patternsStrong knowledge of distributed systems, fault tolerance and resiliency patternsStrong knowledge of API best practices, including contract-first design, versioning strategies and backwards compatibilityExperience designing and working with event-driven architectures, including messaging, streaming and eventual consistencyStrong experience with Linux and containerised environments using technologies such as Docker and KubernetesHands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and production observability practicesSolid working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQLA track record of writing clean, well-tested and maintainable code, with demonstrated technical initiativeThe ability to balance technical quality with pragmatic product deliveryHealthy curiosity, strong autonomy and a deep sense of accountability for your workA genuine drive to grow as an engineer and raise the standard of those around you
For our full-stack opportunities, you’ll also bring meaningful experience building modern web applications and delivering intuitive, high-quality customer experiences.
You’ll remain comfortable spending a significant portion of your time working across backend services, APIs and data.
Experience that would be valuable

What’s on offer
We support a mix of in-office, hybrid and remote working across Australia.
With several positions available, we’re open to exceptional candidates nationwide; however, we’re looking to grow our Sydney-based engineering presence and will prioritise candidates who can regularly collaborate from our Surry Hills office.
If you’re Sydney-based, you’ll typically spend three days (M,W,F) in the office, with flexibility to work from home.
