eNGINE is hiring a Senior Software Test Engineer to join a Scrum team supporting safety-critical medical device software.
This role will initially work under a senior team member, adding bandwidth to the team ahead of that resource transitioning to a new project.
The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, technically strong, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Essential Functions:
Maintain and update the OS and kernel, including recompiling, patching, updating bootloaders, and managing driver updates.Support cybersecurity efforts, including CVE reviews, patch deployment, package updates, and code refactoring.Triage bugs and perform root cause analysis on fielded devices, addressing system crashes, memory leaks, and hardware-software integration issues.Maintain and update Yocto build configurations.Modify board support packages to accommodate new component revisions and other hardware changes.Write, run, and maintain scripts supporting unit testing, continuous integration, data analysis, and related tasks.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.5+ years of experience working with embedded Linux.Experience customizing, deploying, and maintaining Linux distributions on embedded platforms.Proficiency in C/C++ and Python within a Linux environment.Experience with Linux hardware bring-up.
Preferred Experience:
Building custom Linux distributions using the Yocto Project.Developing and customizing Linux device drivers.Customizing the U-Boot bootloader.Working with Bluetooth, cellular, or Wi-Fi peripherals.Experience in medical devices or other regulated industries.
