Information Systems Security Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to administer, maintain, secure, and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, business continuity, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in system administration, backup and disaster recovery, enterprise storage, virtualization, ITSM platforms, infrastructure monitoring, and database administration. The role requires hands-on experience with IBM Spectrum Protect, Commvault, BMC Helix, enterprise storage solutions, UNIX/Linux operating systems, virtualization technologies, and enterprise databases while supporting IT operations in an ITIL-based environment. Key Responsibilities System Administration & Infrastructure Management Administer and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.Manage Windows and UNIX/Linux server environments.Perform system installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and availability.Implement infrastructure hardening and security best practices.Support enterprise storage and virtualization platforms.Backup & Disaster Recovery Administer enterprise backup solutions.Design, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.Configure and manage:IBM Spectrum ProtectCommvaultPerform backup scheduling and monitoring.Execute backup restoration and disaster recovery testing.Ensure backup compliance with organizational and cybersecurity policies.Maintain Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).Storage Administration Administer enterprise storage infrastructure.Manage IBM and EMC storage solutions.Monitor storage utilization and capacity planning.Perform storage provisioning and optimization.Support SAN/NAS environments.Ensure storage availability and redundancy.Infrastructure Monitoring & Incident Management Monitor enterprise infrastructure using monitoring tools.Detect and resolve infrastructure alerts.Investigate incidents and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).Coordinate with infrastructure, database, network, and application teams.Resolve incidents within SLA targets.Support Problem Management and Change Management processes.ITSM Platform Administration Administer and maintain BMC Helix ITSM.Configure:WorkflowsService CatalogsFormsAutomation RulesUser AccessSupport ITSM integrations.Maintain ITIL-compliant IT service processes.Troubleshoot ITSM platform issues.Database Administration Support Support enterprise databases including: Microsoft SQL ServerMySQLOracle DatabasePostgreSQLSAP HANAResponsibilities include: Database health monitoringBackup coordinationPerformance monitoringStorage managementCapacity planningUNIX / Linux Administration Administer enterprise operating systems including: IBM AIXRed Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES)Responsibilities include: InstallationPatch managementUser administrationPerformance tuningSecurity hardeningCapacity Planning & Performance Optimization Analyze infrastructure performance.Forecast storage and infrastructure capacity requirements.Optimize server and storage utilization.Recommend infrastructure improvements.Track software licenses and subscription utilization.Documentation Prepare and maintain: System Architecture DocumentsConfiguration DocumentsBackup ProceduresDisaster Recovery PlansInstallation GuidesStandard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Operational ManualsIncident ReportsCapacity ReportsSupport & Collaboration Provide Level 2 and Level 3 infrastructure support.Support production systems.Collaborate with infrastructure, application, database, and security teams.Participate in infrastructure projects and technology upgrades.Support business continuity initiatives.Continuous Improvement Evaluate emerging technologies.Recommend infrastructure enhancements.Improve automation and operational efficiency.Ensure compliance with ITIL and cybersecurity best practices.Education Bachelor's Degree in:Computer ScienceInformation TechnologyComputer EngineeringInformation SystemsElectronics & Communication EngineeringRelated Engineering DisciplineRequired Experience Minimum 8+ years of experience as an IT Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator.Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.Hands-on experience with enterprise backup solutions.Experience administering enterprise storage environments.Experience with ITSM platforms.Experience supporting production-critical environments.
