The Opportunity We're seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join our growing team and help shape the future of healthcare technology. The Cloud Operations Engineer role designs and implements cloud infrastructure supporting CI/CD on Azure and AWS. The Cloud Operations Engineer brings a strong understanding of software architecture and development workflows, along with skills in prioritization, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration. This role partners with engineers, architects, QA, and leadership to deliver and support scalable production systems. Location: Hybrid - Pittsburgh, PA (Core office days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) Reports to: Director, Technology Operations What You'll Do Implement, maintain, and evolve public cloud (AWS/Azure) hosted software products and servicesSet up, plan, and configure cloud solution environmentsDeploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, secure, and fault-tolerant systemsMigrate existing on-premises applications to public cloud infrastructureIdentify and implement appropriate use of cloud deployment and operational best practicesEstimate cloud usage costs and implement operational cost control mechanismsWrite automation code/unit tests/documentation and perform code reviewsConfigure, manage, and monitor application access, security, and performanceParticipate in an on-call rotation; respond to, troubleshoot, and remediate production incidents to meet availability and reliability targetsIntegrate cloud hosted applications with external customer and 3rd-party systemsPerform extensive research and analysis to make optimal architecture and design decisionsProvide expert guidance on cloud application securityCreate proof-of-concept prototypes Required What We're Looking For Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field3+ years of experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud or on-prem environments3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)3+ years of experience in setting up and/or maintaining automated build/deployment systemHands-on experience with cloud monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch)Strong programming/scripting experience (e.g., C#, .NET, Python, Bash)Hands-on experience with SQL, web technologies, and distributed systems Experience supporting production systems on-call, including incident response and root-cause analysisProficiency with Git and version-control workflows (branching, pull requests, code review)Proficiency in containerization technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) and API servicesExpertise in infrastructure automation (IaC) and version control systems (Git, branching, PR workflows)Demonstrated ability supporting production systems, including incident response and troubleshooting Preferred Advanced level certification in Microsoft Azure (Solutions Architect Expert/DevOps Engineer Expert) or similar skillset certificationIntegration of cloud services with on-premises technologies from Microsoft, IBM, HP, etc.Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA)Experience utilizing Jenkins to manage build jobs for front-end code/templates; understanding of plugins within a Jenkins environmentHands-on working experience with the cloud network and security servicesWorking knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows/Linux/macOS/mobile platforms)Automation experience with infrastructure and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, Argo, etc.Mobile build and test automation experience a plus (iOS, Android) Why You'll Love Working Here Meaningful Work: Your code directly impacts patient safety and pharmacy operations across the healthcare system.
