Founding Engineer Care Hero | Boston, MA (On-site) | Full-time About Care Hero Care Hero is building the AI teammate for home-based care. Caregiving is the largest and fastest-growing workforce in the US, serving its most vulnerable population — yet care teams are still buried in manual, repetitive administrative work. We use the latest AI and agentic workflows to take that burden off their plates, so agencies can deliver more efficient, more compassionate care to people in their homes. We're incubated at the Harvard Innovation Labs, backed by investors including Morgan Stanley, and we've grown 10x in the past 4 months. We work with clients across the country — from SMB agencies to some of the biggest home care companies in the US — and we've proven direct ROI impact on their business. The Role As a Founding Engineer, you'll work side by side with the founder in Boston to design, build, and ship the core product. This is a true zero-to-one role: you'll talk directly with customers, turn what you hear into working software, and shape our product direction, technical architecture, and culture from the ground up. What You'll Do Architect and build scalable, secure backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power real-world care operationsIntegrate cutting-edge AI capabilities — LLMs, agentic workflows, voice AI, and automation — into the productShip across the stack, from backend systems to intuitive frontend experiences, with real ownership of product and design decisionsJoin customer conversations and product discovery, and translate user feedback directly into what we build nextDefine engineering best practices, help make technical hiring decisions, and lay the foundation for a platform that grows with the company What We're Looking For Strong software engineering fundamentals: modern languages, system design, and experience building and running production-grade applicationsExperience designing scalable, reliable, and secure backend services, APIs, and data pipelinesHands-on experience with AI/ML or data-driven products — integrating models into real applications or building with AI platforms and toolsComfort with frontend development and a genuine care for user experienceHigh ownership and urgency: you thrive on ambiguity, own projects end to end, and ship fast through rapid iteration and experimentationStrong communication skills — you can work closely with non-technical stakeholders and care-focused professionalsInterest in healthcare, home-based care, senior care, or mission-driven work where technology supports frontline workersBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience This Role Is For You If You're an engineer with strong product sense — or hungry to build one.
