About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Technical Leader to join our Connected Devices Platform team at Cisco.
In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems that support millions of users globally.
Your expertise will help ensure the resilience, scalability, and high performance of our platform, which is critical to delivering quality broadband experiences to consumers worldwide.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions, improve existing architectures, and implement best practices for development and operations.

Qualifications
Expert-level understanding of Java or Kotlin programming languagesExtensive experience working with distributed systems, particularly using Apache KafkaStrong architecture and design skills, including data modeling and API designHands-on experience with agentic AI development and harness creationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)Knowledge of Kotlin and Golang (preferred)Strong understanding of Kubernetes and modern cloud deployment practices (preferred)Familiarity with various datastore technologies, including transactional, analytical, relational, and document-based databases (preferred)
