Senior Platform Engineer - Azure DevOps Build Agent Containers

Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office Your Profile & DNA: We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Docker container engineering, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and CI/CD platforms to modernize our Azure DevOps build platform. Roles & Responsibilities Build Platform Modernization Review and assess the current portfolio of Docker images used by the Azure DevOps build platform.Identify unnecessary dependencies, duplicate layers, cached artifacts, outdated tooling, and optimization opportunities.Design a scalable and maintainable image strategy for Azure DevOps self-hosted build agents.Standardize Docker image architecture, lifecycle management, versioning, and governance.Establish best practices for image creation, maintenance, patching, and security.Container Engineering Design, build, and maintain optimized Docker images for enterprise CI/CD workloads.Create purpose-built build agent images instead of large, generic images.Optimize image build time, pull time, startup time, and runtime efficiency.Reduce image size while maintaining functionality and security.Improve maintainability through modular image design and reusable components.Platform Engineering Support the migration from traditional build agents to AKS-hosted Azure DevOps self-hosted agents.Collaborate with DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Security teams to improve the build infrastructure.Implement automation for image builds, testing, publishing, and lifecycle management.Improve developer experience through reliable and efficient build infrastructure.Security & Governance Implement secure container image practices across the build platform.Integrate image vulnerability scanning into the CI/CD pipeline.Establish Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) generation and image governance.Ensure compliance with enterprise security and supply-chain security standards.Define patching strategies and base image update processes.
