We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the Patchman team.
You'll work hands-on with Patchman's existing and legacy infrastructure, helping stabilize, modernize, and integrate it with our broader platform.
This includes tackling technical debt, improving reliability and performance, optimizing infrastructure costs, and simplifying systems and processes along the way.
You'll collaborate closely with other teams to help build a stronger and more maintainable foundation for the product.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain the Patchman backend infrastructureDevelop and maintain new product features, from design through implementation and testingInvestigate and resolve complex issues reported by customers, digging deep into the codebase to identify root causesOperate and maintain a large fleet of dedicated servers, including API gateways, load balancers, and internal processing nodesImplement and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient, automated deliveryWrite and maintain comprehensive unit/integration tests to ensure code qualityMonitor performance and reliability of production systems, proactively identifying areas for improvementCollaborate with cross-functional teams to refine architecture and contribute to technical direction
Requirements
5+ years of professional experience as a Backend or DevOps DeveloperProficiency in at least one high-level programming languageExperience designing backend services, with a solid understanding of performance, concurrency, scalability, and reliabilityHands-on experience building and running high-throughput data pipelines at scale using Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, RabbitMQ, or similar technologiesExperience with SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, and in-memory databases, such as RedisStrong understanding of different data storage paradigms, including relational, NoSQL, and in-memory key-value databasesPractical experience with Docker and Docker Compose for local development and production deploymentsHands-on experience with KubernetesExperience working with monitoring systemsSolid understanding of CI/CD best practices, including Git, automated testing, and deployment workflowsExcellent debugging skills and the ability to investigate complex technical issuesAnalytical mindset and the ability to interpret metrics and user feedback to make data-driven decisionsStrong communication and collaboration skillsUpper-intermediate spoken and written English
