Senior Java Software Developer

Develop scalable Java systems for the digital justice system... Are you interested in developing modern backend systems while taking responsibility for quality, architecture, and stability? At Westernacher Solutions, you’ll work on security-critical applications in the fields of justice and public administration. You’ll develop high-performance backend systems, drive technical improvements, and ensure that our solutions remain scalable and reliable over the long term. In doing so, you’ll actively contribute your experience, help shape technical decisions, and work on solutions with high societal relevance. What to Expect: • Backend Development: Developing and enhancing modern applications based on the latest Java technologies. • Architecture & Design: Designing and implementing scalable, high-performance, and maintainable software solutions. • Quality Assurance: Ensuring high code quality through reviews, testing, and the application of best practices. • Collaboration: Close coordination with product owners, business units, and technical stakeholders to successfully implement business requirements. • Optimization: Continuous improvement of existing systems in terms of performance, stability, and security. • Operations & Deployment: Support for deployment processes and the further development of the existing system landscape. What You Bring to the Table: • Several years of hands-on experience in software development with Java. • Very good knowledge of common Java frameworks and technologies such as Spring, Hibernate, and REST. • Experience developing complex backend systems and distributed applications. • Knowledge of modern web technologies and working with APIs and services. • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or comparable environments. • Hands-on experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Ideally, knowledge of security areas such as PKI, encryption, or electronic signatures. • A structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to work. • Excellent written and spoken German and good written and spoken English.
