About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps / Cloud Engineer specializing in Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code to join our IT Software Engineering team in Bad Friedrichshall. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability cloud services within our STACKIT Kubernetes environment. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of our ServiceNow Shared Services, including AI Search, Machine Learning, and Document Intelligence applications. You will be responsible for optimizing our CI/CD pipelines, automating infrastructure deployment, and ensuring the security and stability of our cloud environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of agility and security, contributing to innovative cloud-native solutions that support our enterprise and external clients. Qualifications You hold a successfully completed degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable technical IT qualification with substantial professional experience in cloud-native and Kubernetes environments.You possess extensive experience managing complex Kubernetes environments in enterprise scenarios and enjoy further developing these environments.You have a strong architectural understanding of the interaction between distributed microservices and traditional, database-centric enterprise applications such as ServiceNow backend systems.You bring practical experience in automating infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Ansible, and in establishing modern CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.You live the DevOps culture, work well within agile methodologies, and understand the requirements of a highly secure cloud hosting operation.You demonstrate excellent communication skills along with very good proficiency in German and good English language skills.You are characterized by a quick grasp of complex technical concepts, a solutions-oriented mindset, and an independent working style. Responsibilities Design and operate highly available services on the STACKIT Kubernetes cluster, providing a performant runtime environment for our ServiceNow Shared Services, including AI Search, Machine Learning, and Document Intelligence.Shape and optimize our CI/CD landscape using GitLab, pushing automation of infrastructure deployment through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, Ansible, and Helm for container workloads.Ensure seamless and high-performance network integration between Kubernetes-based microservices, Java-based ServiceNow application nodes, and load balancer clusters.Maintain our Sovereign Cloud SLAs by implementing auto-scaling strategies and comprehensive observability concepts to guarantee maximum stability and availability.Implement security hardening measures for Kubernetes clusters, including Pod Security Policies and Network Policies, while ensuring compliance with standards such as BSI C5 and DORA within the container environment.Translate technical requirements into standardized, scalable cloud architectures as part of an agile team, ensuring efficient and resilient deployment of cloud-native solutions.
