Their platform is redefining the sector, and with revenues nearly 10x since the start of last year, they’re continuing to expand their Engineering team to match the ambition of their product and customers. The product is real-time, data-rich and AI-native, creating complex engineering challenges across distributed systems, reliability, infrastructure, tooling and developer experience. As they continue to scale their Engineering team, they are now looking for a Staff Platform Engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals to help shape the platform that allows product engineers to ship quickly, safely and reliably. The Staff Platform Engineer As a Staff Platform Engineer, you’ll treat the internal platform as a product, with engineers as your customers. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who can design and build scalable systems, not just manage cloud infrastructure. You’ll work across infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, observability and production reliability, while writing high-quality software in Go and helping set the technical standard for how engineering teams build and operate services at scale. You’ll also play a broader Staff-level role across the engineering organisation, solving complex technical problems, influencing architecture, mentoring engineers and helping raise the bar for reliability, scalability and engineering quality. What will the Staff Platform Engineer do? Build and evolve platform infrastructure using Go, Terraform, Kubernetes and GCPDesign reliable distributed systems that support a complex, real-time, AI-Native SaaS productOwn and improve CI/CD pipelines, making builds, tests and deployments faster and saferBuild automation and internal tooling that removes manual toil for engineering teamsImprove observability across metrics, logging, tracing and production monitoringDefine and manage SLOs across latency, availability and error ratesLead incident response, resolve complex production issues and ship long-term fixes as codePartner with product engineering teams to improve the path from code to productionProvide technical leadership across teams, helping others make strong architectural decisionsMentor engineers and help raise the standard of platform engineering across the business What will the Staff Platform Engineer bring? Strong software engineering experience, with Go as a key languageExperience designing and operating distributed systems in productionStrong cloud infrastructure experience, ideally with GCP or AWSDeep hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes at scaleExperience with Terraform and infrastructure as codeStrong understanding of networking, IAM, managed services and secure cloud architectureExperience owning observability, logging, APM or distributed tracing toolingAn SRE mindset across SLOs, reliability, incident response and toil reductionA track record of technical leadership, mentoring and delivering complex projects through othersStrong systems thinking, with the ability to balance speed, quality and long-term maintainabilityClear communication skills and the ability to influence how engineers build and operate services This is an amazing opportunity for a Staff Platform Engineer to join a fast-growing scale-up at a pivotal stage, working on complex distributed systems, real-time infrastructure, developer tooling and AI-native architecture.
