About Traveltek
For over two decades, Traveltek has been powering the booking platforms behind travel agents, tour operators, cruise lines and wholesalers around the world.
We’re widely recognised as one of the world’s leading travel technology providers - and we’re still growing.
The role
Our Systems team keeps our global platform up and running 24/7.
They work closely with development teams and a wide range of third-party partners to make sure our internal and external customers get the best possible service.
We’re looking for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to take a leading role in that team - owning and evolving our AWS hosting environment, driving our ambitious migration plans and raising the bar on automation, reliability and security.
You’ll be a go-to technical voice in the team and help others grow along the way.
What you’ll be doing
• Designing, building and running secure, scalable AWS infrastructure in line with the AWS Well-Architected Framework
• Leading the technical delivery of our cloud migration work - from planning through to cutover
• Building and maintaining infrastructure as code with Terraform
• Owning and improving our CI/CD pipelines across AWS CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, CodeBuild, Jenkins and GitHub
• Automating anything that’s done more than twice
• Improving monitoring, alerting and incident response so we spot problems before our customers do
• Working with third-party providers and internal teams to keep the platform running smoothly
• Mentoring other engineers and sharing knowledge across the Systems team
What we’re looking for [5 years plus experience]
• Solid experience as a Systems or DevOps Engineer at a senior level, ideally in an e-commerce or high-availability environment
• In-depth knowledge of AWS setup and best practice, including EC2, S3, ElastiCache and RDS
• A strong understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework
• Hands-on experience with AWS DevOps tooling (CodePipeline, CodeDeploy, CodeBuild) as well as Jenkins and GitHub
• Proven experience building environments with Terraform
• A track record of automation using scripting languages such as Python, Bash or Perl
• Proven expertise in Linux server management - Ubuntu preferred
• Strong networking skills across both physical and cloud networking
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, Zabbix, Nagios or similar
• MySQL/MariaDB experience
Bonus points: experience working with PCI DSS and GDPR requirements.
Why work for us
This is an exciting, varied and highly rewarding role for the right person.
Alongside a competitive salary, you’ll get:
• 33 days’ flexible annual leave, rising to up to 36 days with service
• Enhanced maternity and parental leave
• A company-funded health cash plan - claim money back on dental, optical, physio and more
• Online GP access, so you can speak to a doctor without the wait
• Perkbox - discounts, rewards and a wellbeing hub
• AI first business - learning support through Anthropic
• Hotel discounts through Stuba
Where you’ll work
This is a hybrid role, combining working from home with time at Traveltek HQ in Glasgow city centre.
