Quality Assurance Engineer

Contract: 12 Months We are currently seeking an experienced QA/QC Specialist (Mechanically Biased) for a 12-month contract on the General Contractor side for a major high-tech construction development near Amsterdam, Netherlands. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical quality specialist with a strong background in mechanical systems who wants to drive strict compliance standards and oversee trade contractors across large-scale MEP packages in the field. The Role As QA/QC Specialist on the General Contractor team, you will be responsible for technical quality assurance, field inspections, and verification across the entire mechanical scope—including HVAC, chilled water networks, pipework, air handling systems, and primary mechanical plant. You will hold trade sub-contractors accountable to technical specs, approved drawings, and quality benchmarks on site. Key responsibilities include: Conducting daily technical surveillance, field audits, and quality walk-downs on mechanical plant, HVAC, pipework, and equipment installations.Reviewing and approving sub-contractor technical deliverables, material submittals, weld logs, and pressure test certificates.Interfacing directly between field QA/QC and testing/commissioning teams to ensure progressive and defect-free systems handover.Managing the full lifecycle of field NCRs, ensuring sub-contractors perform thorough root-cause analyses and execute timely rework.Auditing sub-contractor quality management systems and installation quality against Dutch/European mechanical and building standards.Holding regular quality review meetings with trade contractors to address installation defects, tolerances, and quality trends.Ensuring digital QA/QC tracking platforms (e.g., BIM 360, Procore, or Field View) are kept fully updated with live inspection data.About You We are looking for someone who can demonstrate: Proven track record in a QA/QC Engineer or Quality Manager role on large-scale MEP or complex industrial builds.Clear mechanical bias backed by formal qualifications (BSc, HNC/HND, or advanced mechanical trade background).Strong understanding of mechanical testing methodologies, pressure testing, ITP sign-offs, and pre-commissioning checks.Practical experience working directly for a General Contractor, managing sub-contractor field quality and snag lists.Strong problem-solving ability with a precise, detail-oriented approach on site.Proficiency using digital site management software for QA/QC tracking and reporting.The Opportunity 📍 Location: Near Amsterdam, Netherlands 📅 Duration: 12-month contract 🔄 Rotation: 10 days on / 4 days off ✈️ Logistics: Full travel and accommodation provided 🏢 Side: General Contractor ⚙️ Focus: Mechanical / HVAC / Pipework / MEP Quality If you are a technically focused Mechanical QA/QC Specialist looking for your next international deployment near Amsterdam, reach out to us today.
