About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Finance Engineering Platform team within the Platform group. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the frontend technical strategy for systems that convert trading, payment, and transfer activities into precise financial records. Your work will directly impact the internal control plane used by Finance and Accounting teams to monitor financial health, investigate reconciliation issues, and execute governed actions. This role requires transforming complex operational challenges into cohesive, scalable user experiences, establishing best practices, and setting technical standards that enable the Finance team to operate with greater speed, accuracy, and confidence. As a key leader, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, engineering, and finance stakeholders. You will lead high-impact initiatives, create technical clarity, and influence the strategic direction of our financial systems. Your expertise will help shape the future of our financial operations, ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency in handling high-volume financial data and workflows. Qualifications 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on building and deploying production-grade web applications.Extensive experience with React and TypeScript for frontend development, coupled with fullstack capabilities across backend services.Proven track record leading ambiguous, cross-functional projects from inception through deployment and iteration.Deep expertise in frontend architecture, including state management, API integration, performance tuning, accessibility, testing, and observability.Experience developing data-rich operational products, enterprise software, or workflow systems where accuracy and user trust are critical.Strong ability to influence technical direction across teams, creating alignment among diverse stakeholders through technical design and product discussions.Familiarity with financial systems, reconciliation, or payments domains is preferred.Experience responsibly utilizing generative AI to improve workflows while maintaining human oversight. Responsibilities Own the frontend technical strategy and architecture for financial reconciliation and operational products, including React and TypeScript applications handling high-volume data, visualization, and transaction investigations.Design and implement auditable workflows that incorporate validation, approval processes, error handling, permissions, and review history.Define clear end-to-end contracts with backend and API teams to ensure reliability, understandability, and seamless data integration for new capabilities.Establish and promote best practices for frontend quality, including testing, accessibility, performance, observability, feature management, and safe deployment processes.Lead complex, high-impact initiatives by providing technical clarity and fostering alignment among engineering, product, design, and finance teams.Partner directly with finance and accounting users to translate operational challenges into strategic product and technical roadmaps.Mentor engineering team members, raising the overall technical bar and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.Utilize innovative AI tools responsibly to enhance workflow efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
