QA Automation Engineer - Remote

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Quality Automation Engineer to support software quality and reliability across front-end applications and back-end services. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing solutions that help identify defects, validate application behavior, and improve overall software quality. The ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of QA automation experience, strong programming skills, and hands-on knowledge of web application testing, API automation, performance testing, and end-to-end testing. You will work closely with developers, QA professionals, product managers, and other stakeholders to integrate automated testing into the development lifecycle and support reliable software releases. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for front-end applications using Angular, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript. • Implement back-end API testing using appropriate testing tools and frameworks. • Collaborate with development and QA teams to integrate automated tests into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. • Use Python, C, or Java for back-end automation and scripting tasks. • Build and enhance front-end test scripts using JavaScript and TypeScript, particularly for Angular applications. • Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies to improve test coverage and collaboration. • Use JMeter for performance testing, Selenium WebDriver for web application testing, Jasmine for front-end unit testing, and Cucumber for behavior-driven testing. • Perform security and code quality assessments using tools such as Veracode and SonarQube. • Use Serenity and Playwright for end-to-end testing of Angular 16 applications and maintain reliable automated test suites. • Work with Oracle databases to validate data integrity and correctness during testing. • Use AWS Code Services to support code deployment and collaborate with AWS infrastructure teams to improve CI/CD workflows. • Stay informed about emerging testing technologies and industry best practices, identifying opportunities to improve automation processes. • Communicate testing requirements, results, and potential issues clearly to developers, product managers, and other stakeholders. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. • 5–7 years of experience in QA automation. • Proven experience in quality engineering, with a focus on both front-end and back-end test automation. • Strong programming skills in Python, C, or Java, along with JavaScript and TypeScript. • Experience with testing frameworks and tools such as JMeter, Selenium, Jasmine, and Cucumber. • Familiarity with Veracode and SonarQube for security assessments and code quality analysis. • Knowledge of Serenity and Playwright for end-to-end testing of Angular applications. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and business teams. Preferred Qualifications • Knowledge of Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS). • Experience with AWS Code Services. • Familiarity with Spring Boot. • Experience testing Angular applications, particularly Angular 16, using automated end-to-end testing frameworks. Contract and Work Environment • Initial 12-month contract, with the goal of conversion to full-time employment. • Hybrid work arrangement requiring four days onsite and one day remote each week. • Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. • Opportunity to contribute to test automation, application reliability, and continuous improvement across front-end and back-end systems.
