Platform Operations, Security, and Reliability • Administer or coordinate application hosting, domains, DNS, security certificates, environments, backups, monitoring, and disaster-recovery procedures. • Apply secure development practices, remediate vulnerabilities, support privacy and security reviews, and maintain appropriate audit logging. • Monitor availability, performance, errors, capacity, and data-processing jobs; investigate incidents and restore service within agreed priorities. • Plan and perform dependency patching, certificate and domain renewals, database maintenance, performance tuning, and preventive maintenance. • Lead the technical investigation and resolution of complex application issues that require independent analysis, troubleshooting across multiple layers of the technology stack, and determination of appropriate corrective action or escalation. User Support, Adoption, and Collaboration • Provide timely technical support through the organization’s ticketing process, including triage, troubleshooting, resolution, escalation, and communication. • Partner with the Client Data Coordinator and program representatives to investigate data-quality issues, clarify requirements, and validate solutions. • Support onboarding, training, quick-reference materials, frequently asked questions, and other activities that increase responsible platform adoption. • Facilitate user acceptance testing, document outcomes, and incorporate feedback before production release. • Communicate technical risks, dependencies, trade-offs, progress, and incidents in plain language to technical and non-technical audiences. • Work with privacy, security, communications, vendors, and leadership to ensure that public and internal platforms meet organizational standards. • Provide technical advice to stakeholders when business requirements, user needs, technical constraints, security requirements, or operational priorities are in conflict, and recommend practical solutions that appropriately balance these considerations. • Participate in cross-functional planning and working groups where application changes affect multiple programs, organizational processes, reporting requirements, or stakeholder groups. • Represent the technical interests of the organization in discussions with external vendors, assessors, hosting providers, and other technology partners. Website, Internal Platforms, and Documentation • Maintain the Central Client Database website, organizational website, Fred’s Kitchen website and assigned intranet or internal web-based platforms, including forms, integrations, accessibility, performance, security and content management functionality. • Coordinate releases and maintenance windows to minimize disruption. • Review and implement recommendations arising from external website, accessibility, privacy, security, infrastructure, or application assessments. • Maintain current documentation for architecture, data flows, integrations, environments, deployment, configuration, access, backup and recovery, incident response, support procedures, source code, database changes, known issues, and technical decisions. • Maintain documentation at a level that supports continuity, future development, troubleshooting, onboarding of technical resources, succession and reduced dependency on individual knowledge holders. • Contribute to technology standards, vendor discussions, succession planning, and long-term platform sustainability. • Identify documentation, process, and technical knowledge gaps and proactively address them to strengthen the long-term maintainability of the application portfolio. What You Bring to the Team: • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Demonstrated full stack development experience supporting production web applications, including front-end development, server-side development, relational databases, APIs, authentication, testing, deployment, and maintenance. • Experience receiving technical or business requirements, recommendations, or assessment findings from other teams or external specialists and translating them into practical technical solutions. • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining production applications using a modern server-side framework such as Python/Django, Node.js, .NET, Java, PHP, or equivalent, with preference for experience relevant to the organization’s existing technology stack. • Experience with front-end development using JavaScript and modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, with preference for React. • Experience with relational database design, querying, optimization, and management, with preference for PostgreSQL or equivalent relational database technologies. • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, webhooks, scheduled processes, or third-party software integrations. • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, controlled deployment processes, or comparable software release practices. • Knowledge of web application security practices, including authentication, authorization, access management, secure coding, data protection, vulnerability remediation, and security testing. • Experience maintaining public-facing websites or other web platforms, including content management systems, forms, integrations, accessibility, performance, and security. • Experience supporting multiple production applications or technology environments with different business requirements and users is an asset. • The candidate must be able to diagnose issues across the application stack, manage competing operational and project priorities, communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders, and handle confidential client and organizational information with discretion. • The candidate must demonstrate strong technical judgment and the ability to work independently when requirements are ambiguous, multiple implementation options exist, or technical and operational priorities complete. • Experience maintaining enterprise databases, case-management systems, client-service platforms, content-management systems, or data-rich internal applications. • Knowledge of privacy-by-design, cybersecurity controls, audit requirements, records management, and handling sensitive personal information. • Experience in a non-profit, social-services, health, housing, or other regulated environment. • Experience working with externally developed applications or transitioning applications from third-party vendors into ongoing internal technical ownership.
