About the Opportunity: The SOFTWARE SYSTEMS ENGINEER II role focuses on developing, integrating, and supporting software within an ICAM workstream. This position carries production accountability, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting, and contributes to maintaining secure, high-quality deployments. The role is integral to sustaining continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, ensuring operational readiness of critical identity and access management applications. Responsibilities: Develop, enhance, integrate, test, and maintain ICAM software components.Commit daily code to the enterprise repository following source control and release management practices.Maintain unit and automated testing coverage.Collaborate with test engineers to resolve defects and validate releases.Support secure CI/CD pipeline execution and zero-downtime deployments.Develop code that meets security, quality, performance, and accessibility standards.Manage integrations between ICAM applications and other systems.Troubleshoot application, integration, configuration, data, and performance issues.Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 incident support.Participate in root cause analysis and after-action reviews.Maintain user stories, technical documentation, system design, and operational procedures.Engage in Agile development ceremonies and processes. Requirements: Hands-on experience with Java development.Proficiency with Spring or Spring Boot frameworks.Experience with Hibernate or similar Java persistence frameworks.Familiarity with Angular or comparable modern JavaScript frameworks.Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.Skilled in Git-based source control and regular code commits.Experience developing and maintaining automated unit tests.Familiarity working within Agile environments.Experience participating in CI/CD software delivery.Ability to troubleshoot and support application and integration issues in production and non-production settings.Ability to provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support.Eligibility to obtain and maintain DHS EOD clearance and required system access. Preferred Qualifications: Prior DHS or federal civilian software engineering experience.Experience with ICAM, IAM, SSO, OAuth/OIDC, PKI, PAM, account management, or access control applications.Knowledge of GitHub Enterprise, Jenkins, SonarQube, Selenium, Nexus, Jira, and Confluence.Experience with AWS, Azure, Docker, EKS, or hybrid-cloud environments.Familiarity with zero-downtime deployments, stateless microservices, and supporting production DevOps.Experience developing Section 508-compliant applications.Expertise in secure coding and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
