WE ARE HIRING: Full Stack Software Engineer Danaos | [Location — Hybrid/On-site] | Full-time About Us Danaos has built the software that powers the global maritime industry. Our platform supports the critical operations of shipping companies around the world, from finance and commercial management to crew, technical, safety, and environmental operations. Today, we’re building what’s next. Maritime presents engineering challenges unlike almost any other industry. Ships operate across the globe with intermittent connectivity, mission-critical operations, and increasingly autonomous workflows. Building software for that environment means solving problems most engineers never encounter, while helping define what the next generation of enterprise software looks like. We are evolving a market-leading enterprise platform with modern engineering practices while continuing to support the real operational needs of the shipping industry. Our teams work close to the business, building software that helps customers run complex global operations reliably across a wide range of environments. Role Overview We are hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to join one of our business domain teams and help design, build, and maintain the applications that support core maritime workflows. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who is comfortable working across the stack and enjoys turning real business processes into practical software. You will work closely with domain experts, business analysts, and engineers to understand how a part of the shipping business works and use that understanding to deliver software that is reliable, usable, and aligned with the needs of customers. Your work will contribute to a broader platform that spans multiple business domains and long-lived enterprise applications. That means balancing feature delivery with maintainability, understanding existing systems as well as building new ones, and working in an environment where software quality and operational reliability matter. What You’ll Do Join one of our business domain teams and work closely with engineers, analysts, and domain experts.Learn the shipping business processes behind the module or product area you support and use that knowledge to build better software.Develop and maintain full stack features across frontend, backend, and database layers.Implement and extend backend services and APIs using C# and .NET.Contribute to frontend development using modern JavaScript frameworks, with Vue as a key part of the product environment.Work with business analysts and senior engineers to translate operational and product requirements into working software.Take ownership of feature delivery within your team, with guidance available for more complex design or architectural decisions.Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and day-to-day team collaboration.Help improve existing applications while contributing new features in a way that keeps systems maintainable over time.Work with relational databases and application data models to support business workflows and reporting needs.Contribute to team delivery practices, engineering standards, and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle. What Success Looks Like You become productive within your domain team and build enough business understanding to make better day-to-day technical decisions.Features and fixes you deliver are reliable, maintainable, and well-integrated across frontend, backend, and database layers. You handle full stack work with increasing independence while knowing when to involve senior engineers for guidance on design, trade-offs, or more complex issues. You contribute consistently to team delivery through solid implementation, clear communication, and dependable follow-through.The team can rely on you to improve the product incrementally while working effectively within an established enterprise platform. What We’re Looking For 3+ years of professional software development experience.Experience building software with C# and .NET.Experience working with modern frontend frameworks such as Vue, Angular, or React.Comfort working across the full stack, from user interface development to backend services and database interactions.Experience designing or consuming REST APIs.Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or similar technologies.Familiarity with source control and collaborative development workflows using Git.Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with both technical and non-technical teammates.Interest in learning business processes and using domain understanding to improve software design and delivery.Nice to Have Experience with Vue 3.Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins.Experience with ERP platforms, enterprise software, or operationally complex business applications.Experience in maritime, logistics, transportation, or similarly domain-heavy industries.Familiarity with testing practices across frontend, backend, or integration layers. Why This Role Matters This role sits close to the business and close to the software that customers depend on every day.
